Available at the Strasburg Clinic
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is healthy and can be used to complement spinal adjustments and other treatments, aiming to accelerate tissue repair and reduce inflammation. It’s pure oxygen, which helps the body's innate healing processes and your immune system without the use of drugs or invasive procedures.
What to Expect at Your Appointment
You will experience HBOT in a seated position in a pressurized chamber. You can return to your usual daily activities immediately following a hyperbaric oxygen therapy session.
Most people see benefits from hyperbaric oxygen therapy after several sessions.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is used to treat the following conditions and disorders:
Musculoskeletal Disorders
- Chronic Back Pain: Combining HBOT with chiropractic adjustments may enhance pain relief and tissue repair by increasing oxygen levels in the affected areas, potentially speeding up recovery times (Jerome et al., 2006).
- Injury Recovery: For patients recovering from musculoskeletal injuries, HBOT can reduce recovery time by enhancing tissue oxygenation and repair, while chiropractic care can ensure proper joint alignment and function during the healing process (Harch, 2012).
Neurological Conditions
- Stroke Rehabilitation: HBOT has been shown to improve outcomes in stroke rehabilitation by promoting neuroplasticity. When combined with chiropractic care, which can aid in motor function and coordination, patients may experience improved recovery rates (Rockswold et al., 2013).
- Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI): Similar to stroke, the combination of HBOT and chiropractic interventions could support brain healing processes and facilitate improvements in cognitive and motor functions (Bennett et al., 2012).
